| When Haiti celebrates its Bicentennial in 2004, the Centre d'Art (Art Center) will have survived 60 years since its founding in 1944. Mr. Dewitt Peters, shown sitting second from right , is credited with the founding of the Art Center that year.
The year 2004 will also represent the longest living art institution in Haiti's history. Haiti owes this honor to the work of Francine Murat, Director of the Centre d'Art, who has carried this tradition into our present day.
